Lord Heal My Backslidings…

Jeremiah 3:22 is a conversation between God and Jeremiah in which God tells Jeremiah to say to His people, “Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.” This raises the following questions. How do you heal what is not physical? Also, why is it spoken of in such a way? No doubt, the spiritual and the physical align side by side, just as the natural aligns with the spiritual.

In this thought (Jer. 3:22) the promise is so sure, as well as inviting, until the only thing to do is to be honest enough to admit that you need it. Once you acknowledge this need, you should come, ask and receive this healing. When you come, remember the rest of this verse: “Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. Come and be healed from your backslidings.”
